Pat was born on September 19, 1946, to Mr. Ivan "Redman" Edison and Mrs. Elizabeth Fletcher Edison in Bay City, Texas.
At an early age, she confessed her love for God, accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized at Mother Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.H. Brown.
Pat attended public school in Bay City and graduated as Valedictorian of her class from Hilliard High in 1964. After high school, Pat matriculated at Prairie View. She earned a B.A. in English in spite of two major setbacks, the death of her mother and the birth of her son, Kevin.
Pat was a teacher in Van Vleck ISD and Bay City ISD for over 20 years. After her teaching career, she worked for William Smith, Sr. Tri-County Child Development Council, better known as Headstart, for more than 15 years, which totals 35+ years of investing in the youth in this area.
In 1976, she married Curtis Wiggins and from this union one child was born, a beautiful girl they named Tiffany.
She was involved in several community organizations, including the Hilliard High Alumni Association and the Daughters In Progress club.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Elizabeth Edison; her brother, David; and her daughter, Tiffany.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Kevin (Shon) Edison of Richmond, TX; her granddaughter, Mykah Edison of Richmond, TX; three nieces, Shawn Preston, Althea Edison and Ambra Edison, all of Houston, TX; and a host of other relatives.
