Danny Lee WoodardFebruary 6, 1978 ~ December 25, 2017 (age 39)
Thirty-nine years ago, God blessed Valerie and Roy Lee Woodard with a beautiful baby boy named “Danny”. Danny was born February 6, 1978. He was the pride and joy of Val and Roy Lee and was showered with much love.
Danny attended public school and graduated from Van Vleck High School in 1996. Danny attended college briefly at Texas A&I University, but missed home and family too much and returned home. Danny accepted Christ at an early age at the Bethlehem Christian Church.
Danny followed in his father’s footsteps and owned his own landscaping business, X-Treme Landscaping.
Danny coached a “pee wee’ basketball team. He really loved working with the kids and loved to make them smile. Jaden was a member of the basketball team and when you saw Danny, you saw Jaden. He had a special place in Danny’s heart.
Danny was a kind and caring person and was loved by many. He truly loved his family and that love was returned. He was small in size, but had a heart pure as gold and the courage of a giant.
Danny would give you his very last and he never gave it a second thought. On October 14, 2017, he saw three hungry little kids that were not his race at Walmart. He pulled over and watched them for five minutes. Danny took the kids into Walmart and got them everything they needed. He blessed the kids so that they could eat for the next few days. He said we should never take for granted that we will have all the time because it can be gone at the snap of your finger.
Danny’s life came to an end on Christmas Day, December 25, 2017. He called his Mom and Granny and sent Christmas messages to several of his aunts. One of his final messages simply said, “Wonderful – God is Super!” He will be missed by all who knew him.
Danny leaves to cherish his memories, a loving mother, Valerie Woodard; one sister, Johnesha Thomas; one niece, Samantha Goodwin; two grandmothers: Amanda Thomas and Addie Smith, a host of aunts, Velia Smith, Uvon Jackson (Robert), Maudester Woodard-Hall (Michael), Patricia Williams, Flora Williams, Gloria Williams, Annette Williams, Avon Williams, Theresa Williams, Opal Williams (Earnest), Trina Paige (Gary) and Cheryl Woodard (Marvin); four uncles, Ronnie Woodard, George Woodard (Joyce), Edwin Williams and Rev.
